Holston Conference responds to retired Bishops

Those of you who follow the news of the United Methodist Church are probably aware of the letter written by 33 Retired Bishops giving support to ordaining openly homosexual people as clergy.  The Holston Conference of the UMC have issued a letter of their own commenting on the letter and supporting the Book Of Disclipline and the Bible. Click on the link below to read the letter.

It is sad that church leaders need to hide behind the documents of the church instead of going to the source. I did not read the statement of the 33 bishops, just the response. I have also read the things that the Bible has to say. What will Methodists do when the political side of the church changes their stand and moves out of harmony with the clear teaching of scripture?

From reading many of the UMC blogs it looks like it is just a matter of time.

I pray for revival.

Grace and Peace.
