Are you truly blessed?

I often hear Christians speak of blessings God has bestowed upon them and I am shocked that it is almost always, money, stuff, people, or children. I think his blessing is our ability to enjoy the good things of life and endure the tough parts. I think we mistakenly allow our happiness to be determined by the here and now to often and take our eyes away from eternity. Eternity is such a hard concept for us to wrap our mind around that we don't give it the importance it deserves. We should busy ourselves daily with the work God has for us to do serving others and spreading his word. We should educate ourselves in his word and treat everyday precious since our deadline to complete our work here is fast approaching. We will have plenty of time for rest in Heaven. Enjoy the pleasures of this world knowing eternity is promised to us.  Just remember it is the ability to enjoy spending time with friends and family watching the Super Bowl that is a blessing not the wide screen T.V. you are watching it on. If the T.V. was taken away you could still enjoy time with friends and family. The truly blessed can enjoy time alone with God. Are you truly blessed?

Political Humor

I have often wondered why it is that Conservatives are called the “right” and Liberals are called the “left.”  By chance stumbled upon this verse in the Bible:
“ The heart of the wise inclines to the right,
but the heart of the fool to the left .”
Ecclesiastes 10:2 (NIV)

Thus sayeth the Lord.  Amen.

EVERYDAY WITH JESUS

Will Boggs shared this song with us at the Sunday night service and I thought I would share it with you.
